Red Velvet Joy upcoming Kdrama Just One Person

According to the latest news Park Soo-young, popularly known as the Red Velvet's Joy has been cast in the new JTBC drama called Just One Person,  Joy's label, SM Entertainment, announced that she received the offer and is considering it favourably.

Just One Person is about a terminally ill woman who intends to kill one bad person as she is dying anyway,  Instead, she encounters only one person who will become extremely important in her life. Both actors  Ahn Eun Jin and Park Sung-Hoon are also shown interest to feature in the drama.

Joy has been offered the female lead role of Sung Mi Do, a well-known influencer who is nearing the end of her life. The character goes through a range of complex emotions as she faces an imminent death.

Just One Person will start filming in August and will premiere in the second half of the year. It will be directed by Oh Hyun Jong, the director of Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo, and written by Moon Jung Min, the writer of Matrimonial Chaos. It would be Joy's first drama in three years if she approves.

Joy was last seen in the 2018 drama Tempted, which she co-starred with Woo Do Hwan. Moon Ga Young and Kim Min Jae also played lead roles in the drama. It is partly based on Pierre Choderlos de Laclos' French novel Les Liaisons dangereuses. Woo Do Hwan's character engages in a risky love game with Joy's character.

If the Korean singer-actress chooses the role, it will be her third leading role after The Liar and His Lover (2017) and Tempted (2018).
